Hope you all are well! I am well...tired...but well! The kids have been sick/having allergy issues. And I have had broken sleep for the last week. I did not get all the sewing in that I had planned. But I did manage to piece together these blocks for a new quilt.
Remember I showed you the stack of fabrics in this post. Well I have the 8 blocks made.
Now to piece them together. One of the goals on my list for 2009 is to actually publish some patterns and/or write a book. Another item on the list is to raise money for charity. This quilt will be used for both purposes. So I am really hoping it turns out the way I see it in my head!
Speaking of goals for 2009, I have a special post planned to share some of the things I'll be working on this year. I am still getting it all together. I can't wait to share it with you all!
Anyway, I diverged. Back to sewing. I did not get any of the actually quilting done on the 3 quilt tops that I already made. They are huge! Here are pics of two of them draped over the swing set in the backyard.
I have not made a final decision on how I want to quilt them. And I am wondering if I should just pay someone to long-arm quilt them. I really need to make a decision soon so I can get these done.
I also managed to get a bit more work done sorting and unpacking things in the studio. I'll share more pics soon. I also have a great post planned for this...as I'll also be featuring some studios from my Flickr Group, Operation Sewing Room Organization. Hopefully I'll be able to get that up next week.
I have also been getting together some bundles featuring out of print fabrics from the fabulous Amy Butler. Some of the bundles are on reserve for upcoming Freebie Fridays Giveaways (remember, the first one starts this Friday, February 6!).
Before I leave, I wanted to invite you all to join a new group I set up on Flickr called Sheree's Alchemy Sewing Circle. This is a place for you all to share your fabrics and goodies that you may have won through one of my giveaways. And to share pictures of your sewing, crafting and quilting projects. I hope you'll take a minute to join. I'll also be giving extra giveaway entries to those that upload pictures each week into this group. I'll explain more on Friday, so do stop by. But go on and join the group and get your pictures uploaded, okay. While you are over on Flickr, feel free to join my other new group there..Your Home, Your Canvas. Again, I have a post coming to talk more about this group and the inspiration behind it. But I'd love for you to go on and join in already and start sharing some of your pictures with us all!
Okay, it is time to get back to work.
I hope to see you all here on Friday!
